ATTORNEYS


JAMES E. HARWARD

James E. Harward

James E. Harward attended Brigham Young University and received a B. A. degree in English. His legal education and training came at the University of California Hastings College of Law in San Francisco. Mr. Harward has over 30 years of legal experience in private practice, corporate counsel and government positions including the Director of Legal Affairs to the Industrial Commission (now the Labor Commission) and Administrative Law Judge for the Utah State Tax Commission. 

He has developed his practice of providing outstanding personal legal services to a select clientele ranging from airline companies to medical device development and manufacturing companies. His expertise is particularly helpful in new company development and reorganizations and restructuring of struggling companies. His trial experience is extensive and broad from complex tax matters to white collar criminal tax matters. 

In addition to his experience in the practice of law, he was a board member of the Utah State Department of Professional Licensing and Chairman of the licensing board, President of the Utah Chapter of NAPEO, co-chair of the Utah State Bar Task Force on administrative law reform, Adjunct Professor for the National Judicial College, University of Nevado-Reno and an avid outdoorsman and family man.


W. EARL WEBSTER

W. Earl Webster attended Brigham Young University and received a B. A. degree in Accounting & Business Management and graduated Magna cum laude. He went on to obtain his Master of Accountancy from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young. 
His legal education and training came at the University of Utah’s S. J. Quinney College of Law in Salt Lake City. 
Mr. Webster has over 20 years of experience in accounting, taxes and law. 
During that time he has served as an income tax auditor for the State of Utah, and Assistant Counsel with the State of Utah in the Uninsured Employers Fund. Mr. Webster joined Harward Law in 2008.


AMY WILLIAMSON

Amy Williamson

Amy graduated in 2005 from Brigham Young University and received a B.A. in History.  She went on to receive an M.S. in American Studies from Utah State University.  Her legal education and training came at Hamline University School of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota.  While in law school Amy worked as a mediator doing family mediations and was on Phi Alpha Delta’s 2013 mock trial team.

In addition to her law practice, Amy is an editor for the International Review of Law Journal, Adjunct professor of American History at Utah Valley University and an Adjunct professor of Medical Law and Ethics for Brigham Young University – Idaho. 

Ms. Williamson joined Harward Law in 2015.


KEENAN DAVIS

Keenan Davis

R. Keenan Davis attended Whittier College, the University of Copenhagen, L’Abri Fellowship Foundation in Huémoz, Switzerland and Brigham Young University. He received a B.A. degree from BYU in Russian Language and Literature with a minor in Comparative Literature. His Juris Doctor degree is from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. He is also a Certificate holder from the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation. He is a member of the California bar.

He is a member of ElderCounsel and practices both Elder Law and Estate Planning in California and assists and supports the Elder Law and Estate Planning services of Harward and Associates. He frequently lectures on both Estate Planning and Elder Law in California and in Utah.

On the corporate side, he has over twenty years of corporate legal experience, having been General Counsel of several high-tech, high-growth companies in Northern California. He has been through the entire corporate life cycle with successful companies – from private company to Initial Public Offering through SEC and California regulatory compliance to Management-led Leveraged Buyout. He has lived through many mergers and acquisitions, filed numerous copyrights and trademarks and managed foreign corporate subsidiaries as well as managed corporate litigation.

At the University of California At Davis, he taught foreign lawyers for fifteen years in a program called, “Orientation to USA Law.” He has also taught classes in Corporate Finance at National University.


JOHN E. WOOTTON, ESQ.

John E. Wootton received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Weber State University and his Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law.  Mr. Wootton was admitted to the Oregon State Bar and the Utah State Bar in 2001. Mr. Wootton practiced law in Salem, Oregon until relocating to Sandy, Utah in 2004.   

Mr. Wootton’s practice areas include business creation, general business law, corporate law, estate planning, elder law, and general litigation. Mr. Wootton was named by Utah Business Magazine as one of Utah’s Legal Elite in 2007 and 2009 and is an accredited VA attorney.

Mr. Wootton takes a common sense approach to the practice of law by helping his clients avoid common pitfalls through proactive planning.  Whether through his unique “Corporate Counsel Services” or estate planning, Mr. Wootton has developed systems that help his clients feel secure in their business activities and their personal lives.  However, when planning isn’t enough Mr. Wootton has plenty of experience in protecting his clients through litigation.

Mr. Wootton is dedicated Francophile, enjoying everything French.  He is an avid reader and World War I history buff.
